At HigherDOSE, we get to develop products we wish already existed in our own wellness routines, and the Full Body Red Light Mat is one I’ve personally been waiting for. It’s not just a launch I’m excited about from a brand perspective; it’s truly become a personal essential in my daily life.
We’ve always loved red light therapy for its ability to boost skin radiance, ease pain, support mood, and even promote hair growth. So we set out to create a full-body red light product that could adapt to every way we love to use it: direct skin contact for deep recovery and a healthy glow, hanging in the morning or evening for circadian rhythm support and mood-boosting benefits, and the ability to layer with our other HigherDOSE tech for the ultimate wellness stack.
Why We Created The HigherDOSE Full Body Red Light Mat
Our goal was to create a red light device that’s as versatile as it is effective. The Science Behind the Red Light Glow
We engineered the Red Light Mat with an optimal irradiance of 90 mW/cm², a level supported by clinical research as both safe and effective for longer sessions. It delivers enough power to spark real change at the cellular level: stimulating energy production, repair, and regeneration without ever feeling overwhelming. With dual wavelengths: 660 nm red light, known to boost skin radiance and collagen, and 850 nm near-infrared light, which penetrates deeper to support blood flow, ease inflammation, and speed recovery. For added benefits, the NIR also pulses at 40 Hz, a frequency studied for its ability to ease pain, support neurological health, and also has skin benefits. How It Feels To Use The Red Light Mat

How I Actually Use It
The Full Body Red Light Mat gets a lot of use in my apartment, pretty much all day long.
In my small NYC apartment (shout-out to my fellow storage-strapped city dwellers), I’ve hung hooks in our workout/wellness room and my WFH office, which also happens to be my bedroom, to keep it accessible. I’ll pull it down to lie on after a workout, pair it with the PEMF Mat for a midday reset, or simply turn it on in the evening while getting ready for bed.
This past year, I’ve had to rethink what self-care means for me. I used to think I had it down—HIIT workouts, clean eating, a solid skincare routine—and I would be militant about it. It didn't matter if I was tired; I’d still power through. I wasn’t prioritizing recovery or stress management. I didn’t realize how much I needed it until my body gave me no choice. Turning 40 hit me with spiked cortisol, weight gain, anxiety, and the kind of workaholism that’s hard to quit when you love your job.
I still love going hard though! Those sweaty, endorphin-fueled HIIT sessions aren’t going anywhere, but now I’m mindful of my cycle, my recovery windows, and how I’m balancing my energy. Being able to bathe in red light anytime I want has become my reset button, helping me calm down, recharge, and actually get the most out of the workouts I love.
And it’s not just me! My best friend/roommate uses it constantly, too. After long days on her feet as a private chef, she lies under it on her bed to ease muscle soreness and speed up recovery. Her favorite part about a Full Body Red Light Mat recovery session is the glow it brings right away. It’s pretty satisfying to see her come out from under the red light with a big smile on her face and say, “OMG, look at my skin!”
